How Witnessing Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Affects Children

Many times, adults and parents make the incorrect assumptions that just because they are not the actual target of physical violence in their homes and/or community, that children are not affected when they witness domestic/intimate partner violence or community violence. Witnessing physical violence unconsciously impacts a child’s cognitive and emotional development, which in turn affects their physical development too. This virtual training will review possible effects witnessing physical violence may have on your child (depending on their age) and will provide families with parenting skills and resources to address the topic appropriate to each age-group.
